Ether DrawingsLos Angeles | Nov 5 - Dec 12 2022
Please join us for the launch of “Ether Drawings” published by notacult
A book by Rema Ghuloum on Saturday November 5th 12-4pm Garage no 1
Ether Drawings is a limited edition book featuring a selection of daily drawings made between April 7, 2020 to April 7, 2021 by Los Angeles based artist Rema Ghuloum and includes writings by visual artist Suné Woods and visual artist/writer/activist Molly Larkey. The drawings emerged at the onset of the pandemic and recently after Ghuloum became a mother, evolving into a diaristic project chronicling time while channeling the collective energy of the moment. Ghuloum adapted her artistic practice to create small-scale daily drawings that could be made at home while sheltering in place during moments when her son slept. Like a form of daily meditation, Ghuloum produced these intimate drawings in one sitting, layering marks of color and then sanding the surface to expose their history, evoking presence and absence simultaneously.
We will have a grouping of framed Ether drawings at the gallery and a portfolio of works from the book. Rema will sign books in person from 3-4pm .Please email for a copy of the map to come to the gallery or receive the pdf of works on paper.
